At that time, Im suffering from severe and escalating pain, prompting me to call your emergency room to inquire about current wait times and to determine the best course of action for my condition. I hoped to receive compassionate advice on whether to present myself for immediate care. Instead, the woman who answered the phone, identifying themselves as a nurse, responded with an astonishingly dismissive and aggressive tone. I was informed, quite abruptly, with the words "yeah we’re slammed and already have enough patience at it is do not come in don’t bother," before the call was unceremoniously disconnected. I was left feeling shocked, abandoned, and deeply distressed, uncertain of where to turn for my acute pain. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic human courtesy displayed by this staff member is utterly unacceptable, particularly in a healthcare setting where individuals are often at their most vulnerable. Such a response not only failed to provide any assistance but actively deterred a patient in genuine need from seeking appropriate medical attention. I respectfully request a thorough investigation into this incident and appropriate measures be taken to ensure that no other patient is subjected to such a distressing experience. Providing accessible and compassionate care, especially during emergencies, is paramount, and this interaction fell far short of expected standards.
