Lou Martinez is hands down the most abusive, cold hearted human being I've ever had the unfortunate fate of being assigned to. Apparently the other staff know this and it's just what he is known for. They told me it is "very unlucky" if you are forced to deal with him. I'm not sure how someone so unwell and full of disdain for patients could be allowed to work with people who need care.
This program has helped me and given the tools for sobriety. Thank you Johnnie!
I will have 10 years this year. Saved my life and i completed the year long program starting with the intensive outpatient 21 day program. I read these poor reviews and I hope they get it. Open minded, honesty and willingness are essential. I pray you can find what I did.
PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING!!!!!! WORST experience of my life, my complete and entire life. I Got kicked out for attempting to speak my mind about what i feel is true in my heart. I only wanted to get care that was right for me. If you are atheist or non-Christian, do not come here. I merely spoke a small amount about beliving in dinosaurs and what i thought the world came from. i was immediately reported to the head of the department. She called me a couple days later and I begged to be kept in the program, but she said I made others uncomfortable because of my vocalization of my beliefs. If you don't confrom to their standards, you will be punished or terminated. They do not care if you have mental illness, they see it as an excuse. I was told if I didn't stop taking my ADD medication, my anti depressants, and my bi-polar medication, i would not be allowed to be in the program. In addition, If you are on any type of anti-drug regimen, like suboxone, they will use it as a weapon in your treatment, conatantly threatening to take it away if you don't 200% dedicate every single second of everyday of your life. No joke. The main reason I even gave CDRP a chance to help me in my recovery was that my insurance helped pay for it, but i still had to pay a daily 20 dollar copay for every visit. On top of that i had to spend serious cash on gas, as i live in elk grove. I was also forced to attend a 90 day inpatient rehab all the way in santa cruz before i was allowed to enter the program, which ended up costinf me several thousands of dollars, it was a good experience that was ruined when i came back to attend this place. Also i had to go to AA/NA meetings everyday which also cost me a lot in gas just trying to find meetings that i could go to everyday. You have to get the host of the meeting to sign a paper proving you went, and often i was accused of forging the signatures. After leaving, I found out after that many people have had the same experience as me and got kicked out for either expressing their opinions or refusing to completely change into what they want you to be. Also they are ridiculously strict about being there exactly on time and don't care if you are late due to an accident or traffic, or even a family emergency. So i hope you arent relying on public transportation. Being late a couple of times gets you kicked out, regardless of the situation. Also be prepared to go to a 12 step class daily or you get kicked out. if you don't feel comfortable at 12 step meeting due to religious beliefs, There is no way around the meeting policy. I was forced into a situation I was uncomfortable with because I don't believe in the religious 12 step system. I strongly recommend finding more personal care some where else where they actually care if you stay sober, instead of their head counts. I was able to get very good and personalized else where, but it is extremely expensive costing over 200 dollars a month, but they have provided incredible help and are super supportive of me and my recovery and most importantly my beliefs. I have never been happier not being at CDRP kaiser.
Usually when a person ends up in this place, what they are doing in life is not working for them and they are desperate to fix it. It is not easy to come to this knowledge. It’s time to let go of your beliefs and just do what you’re told, after all, your own thinking got you there. It is difficult to trust that Kaiser knows you well enough to give you, personally, the direction you need. But guess what? They know what they’re doing and if you are tough enough to tell your truth and give their way a try for 1 measly year, there is a high chance you will recover. The people who gave poor ratings most likely weren’t openminded enough to adjust to change, but I wish them well. It works if you work it.
