Having entered the facility just coming out of a Coma that left me paralyzed and on a ventilator. I cannot Thank the entire team at Kindred Hospital (San Leandro, California) enough. From the Doctors (Dr. M and Dr. S) who visited me every morning making me feel seen and valued and heard, and making recovery a goal. The Nurses, CNA’s and RT’s, who always treated me with such care. Making me feel comfortable and understood. The supporting staff went above and beyond ensuring everything was spotless and always asking me if I needed anything but what truly changed my life was Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy when I arrived I was paralyzed and could not move! Now because of their dedication and always encouraging me especially Anna and Veronica (PT) and Isabella in (OT) I am walking again. Their daily encouragement gave me strength, and for that I am forever grateful. Supporting staff were always there helping too. I still have a lot of work to do but they gave me back my life. If you or a loved one needs compassionate expert care around the clock this is the place. As a side note my room had a great view and I always got to see the Sun rise and it always made my day.
My expirence at Kindred has been a mixed bag. The nurses and CNA'S are great people and work *HARD* yet understaffing is evident. The quality of the food has been surprisingly GOOD! But the real bright spot has been the Patient Services Advocate, Patty Fitch. She's a gifted facillitator and made sure I got the supplies and assistence needed, and did so with uncommon kindness and empathy. Her smiling face was that daily bright spot that makes an extended stay pleasant.This is a true professional on every level.
Do not send anyone in your family here. Worst hospital ever. My grandpa was doing perfectly fine before being transferred here and ever since he’s been there it’s just been downhill. The nurses do not know what they are doing and everytime you ask a question they don’t know the answer. No communication from them either. Place should be shut down
All staff did a great job taking care of my family. They were very considerate of patient and family as well. Thank you for everything you've done.
While the nursing staff was busy and sometimes couldn’t respond to calls right away, they were still very kind and accommodating. The real stars, however, were the rehab team—Michelle, Nikil, Carly, Ebony, and Anna. They were absolutely wonderful and a joy to be around. Their motivation and dedication to helping my Nana get back on her feet were truly inspiring. Even when my Nana was tired, they remained persistent, often working with her right in her room. They celebrated every small improvement, cheering her on every step of the way. In just one month, they helped her go from being bedridden to standing and taking steps again. A special thanks to Nikil, who strongly recommended and advocated for an acute rehab center instead of a skilled nursing facility. He made it happen quickly, and we are incredibly grateful for his support and commitment
