Amazing. Im truthfully thankful. Theyre doing construction and I didn't know my way around, a nurse helped me find my way. Im not to bright when it comes to what actually to say, but theyre intelligent when ot comes to analyzing. Im really thankful. Thank you for your services. All of you.
I LOVE this hospital, but today they failed their patients as a group! With the current reconstruction of the parking lots (about which i am NOT complaining), an area RESERVED for (and clearly marked) "Patients Only" were full of worker. Thank God I got there early enough to get the last spot! At around 7:30 many who had not already left got out of their trucks, put on their utility belts and walked to the construction site. The hospital is FAILING their patients by not insisting that the construction firm in-charge ensure that their employees respect the needs of the patients. Those workers are more fit to walk an extra distance than 80 y.o. patients like myself.
Hospital and Clinic are pretty ok all things considered for how rural a location we are. Where the ball gets dropped is in Administrative Practices. I received a bill after paying and assumed that they missed something so I went ahead and paid the bill and try as I might the website just wouldn't work. Wanting to avoid late fees I called and finally was able to pay over the phone. I received a call the next day stating I had overpaid and that bill was sent in error and I should soon receive a check for a refund. Well it's been two months and I've still yet to hear back from them or receive the aforementioned refund. Calling today I was again unable to reach anyone in Financial Services, I only ever receive the option to leave a voicemail. Will update this if I hear back from the hospital and the error is rectified. Update to the owner, the number you provided does not work and is not currently in service. I also received the check yesterday finally but it was for the incorrect amount. Patient financial services is also unavailable. Further updates, after being seen for a workman comp claim, I was sent immediately to collections without having received a bill or notice. The collections agency isn't able to be contacted either.
I can never understand people who make generalizations about the overall quality of a facility based on only one experience. My wife and I have been living on this mountain for over 30 years full-time and I hate to think of how many times I've been here for ER or radiology or blood work or CT scans or x-ray; I think I've seen just about every department here and I can't recall any experience that was anything less than outstanding. EVER. Not too long ago I had pain in my left arm, which can be a sign of heart trouble. It wasn't debilitating by any measure but I thought I should have it checked, just in case. I went into the ER, told the receptionist my problem and within a couple of minutes I was in the back, IV started, blood being drawn, monitors hooked up and beeping away... everyone was friendly, caring, and telling me exactly what was happening and who was doing what. Then came the mobile x-ray, heated blankets, and so on. It was a "swarm" of friendly, caring people. The doctor came in and again explained was what happening, and what to expect in the next couple of hours. It turned out to be nothing and I had over-reacted, but I was assured that I had done the right thing by coming in. I've been with my wife through 20+ years of her breast cancer and I've seen a lot of big-name medical facilities in Southern California. UCLA, Loma Linda, St. Bernadines, etc. Mountains Community Hospital certainly measures up. It's smaller, for sure, but in my experience that's a good thing. They also have a skilled nursing facility (SNF) attached to the hospital. I've seen over a dozen similar facilities in the San Bernardino area; this one is in a league by itself. My wife is now a resident there and even before she was admitted I felt like I had a new family. Everyone is so friendly, personable, and eager to give outstanding care. Squeaky clean and very quiet. They take good care of me, too, and even thank me for coming to visit my wife. And the food... people who complain about hospital food have clearly not eaten here! Needless to say, the food is quite good. As of this writing they have earned Medicare's highest rating. Again, it's small and again, that's a good thing. The skilled nursing has a beautiful outdoor area where the residents can enjoy the sun and nature. If they can't get out there by themselves, the staff will take them. I'll let the attached picture do the talking. I wish I could give the hospital and SNF more than 5 stars!
Heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Mountains Community Hospital. Every doctor, nurse, and auxiliary person from cafeteria to maintenance was incredibly professional, kind and so very caring. You actually listen to your patients and do your utmost to facilitate their healing and improve their hospital experience. I've been hospitalized many times for bowel obstructions, and have never been taken care of so finely. Have only the highest praise for your entire hospital. Much gratitude for your excellent service and genuine caring humanity.
