We had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at the Emergency Room today. My brother, who is 23 years old, was having serious breathing difficulties and had been struggling for several days, unable to sleep properly. Despite this, the doctor was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the visit. When we explained that he has a history of asthma, the doctor repeatedly accused us of “self-diagnosing,” refused to perform any tests such as X-rays or further examination, and only administered steroids and breathing treatments ,the same medications my brother is already taking. I tried explaining that sometimes asthma can be triggered by other illnesses or conditions, but the doctor rudely interrupted, told me I was not a doctor, and questioned whether I even understood the words I was saying. Instead of properly evaluating my brother’s condition or ensuring he was truly stable, the doctor repeatedly insisted that further treatment could only be done at a PCP, even though my brother was actively struggling right in the ER. Simply stabilizing him and sending him elsewhere without proper assessment or explanation is not acceptable emergency care. The doctor also implied that prescribing additional treatment would be expensive, which was inappropriate in an emergency situation. Patients come to the ER when they are scared and need proper medical attention. They deserve to be treated with respect, compassion, and clear communication, and their concerns should be taken seriously. This experience was stressful and upsetting for both my brother and our family. We hope the hospital administration reviews this incident carefully and takes steps to improve patient care and staff professionalism in the Emergency Room.

The technician who did my MRI was very respectful and helpful. The lady at the check in desk seemed like she was having a bad day and was a little off putting. My overall experience was good. I got good and fast setvice.
On May 29th I presented to NEA emergency room a little bit after midnight for upper abdominal pain only that woke up out of my sleep and my husband was with me and told the receptionist that I was 6months pregnant and he immediately called in the walkie talkie and they came rush me up to the OB floor . Upon arrival to the floor that ask me to do a urine sample which I did because I am always asked to every doctors office I go to. After giving the urine sample. I got to the room and got into my gown . The nurses came in and hooked me up to the monitors and took tubes of my urine down to the lab and the other one asked me questions and then started me on fluids . She asked me if I do drugs or do I drink .She states that they are going to monitor me . They monitor me for a while before the nurse came back and asked how I was doing. I have explained to her that I was in severe pain. She said that she going to go let the doctor know . About 45mins later she came back and said the wants to give you some medicine to coat your stomach. I took it and she left the room again and came back about 30mins later and asked again how I was feeling and I told her that I was still in pain. She states that was going to let the doctor know again. So she comes back and says the wants to give you something for nausea, Pepcid, and pain medication. So the nurse explained how the medication would work and how it’s going to make me feel . So finally Dr.Chad Hill comes in at shift change and ask me how I am feeling and then tells me that I may have gallstones due prior imaging in January and having sludge in my gallbladder. He states that I would consult with GI for further evaluation and he states was going to be discharging me. I said okay . The nurse comes in and goes my discharge paperwork and goes over it and get in the wheelchair. Once I get home I get an email from Baptist through MyChart about results that was done but never was discussed . The only thing I was tested for drugs cocaine,pcp fentanyl and every list of drugs that you can think about. No imaging was done or ordered or labs was drawn . The only thing they did was drug test me and give pain medication. I absolutely positively am not coming back to this hospital nor would I recommend it for care . I feel stereotyped and I have never done drugs in my life . I am not person that would my child harms . If you take one good look at me and medical history you would see that I have never touched a drug in my life. I feel like the nurse Rebecca RN should have said something or had Dr.Chad Hill to come so I could address with him personally. But, they waited to I left for me to find that out. I am not happy at all . I feel they very poor in communication and negligent in the care . PLEASE IF YOU OR LOVE NEED A HOSPITAL TO GO TO I WOULDNT RECOMMEND YOU COME HERE AT ALL . I received better care in Memphis then I do at NEA.
April 14th I took my mother to the Emergency Department on the advice of her physician. The attending physician that night was incredibly rude and just unconcerned. He didn't even do an assessment on her. Then he sent her home. On the 17th, we were called and told to bring her in for treatment of a UTI. Dr. Watlington was so kind and carung. She ordered more cultures which came back negative. Of course the results don't come back for at least 24 hours so mom was admitted for IV therapy. Her stay was uneventful for the most part. It took a few days to get her menu corrected. The nurses and therapists were all great on 5th floor. Dr. Patel was wonderful. They all took great care of her. I have to mention Dr Woodruff, her Nephrologist. He is the best!
