My mom met with the doctor, which informed us he thinks she has 100% blockage on one side and 60% on the other side. He wanted to run more test and said he would personally call her with the results because this is urgent and can’t wait the 2 weeks when he comes back to flagstaff. Here we are 3 weeks and still waiting. She was scheduled for an appointment on Tuesday. We drove from an hour away just to tell us the doctor can’t read her results it has to be another doctor and she will get a call on friday(which I had to pay out of pocket for) today we never received the call. So we call and they said they do not have the results back. Just getting the run around. Mind you the doctor said she can have a massive stroke within a month. Here we are I. Week 3 and still no answers or no surgery scheduled.
Sort of a two-part review: 1) Care is great- I like the provider I see and their attentiveness to my overall health. The other staff/nurses are nice as well. 2) Had to wear a remote monitor. Not necessarily an unpleasant experience, except for the fact that the monitor itself (I realized after leaving the office) reeked of a smoker- of which I am not. Provided that my follow-up was rescheduled a month from when originally planned, I didn't want a hassle of trying to get a new monitor or rescheduling yet again. I feel a professional place, such as this, would have adequately cleaned each monitor after use- but I suppose not?
Dr Tran was the caring, professional person that I have come to trust and respect over the years I have been seeing him. He explained the results of the monitor he had me wear and told me options available to me and with no pressure let me reflect upon my options. I am thankful for him and would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Tran analyzed me an my condition records quickly and thoroughly. He scheduled me for the necessary procedure in an “Outpatient type” surgical center in Flagstaff to occur just 2 days after our initial appointment in Cottonwood AZ. While discussing the procedure, I asked about monitoring equipment so we would be able to see whether or not the procedure performed was working. He checked with my insurance and was able to install the monitoring device during the same visit to the Surgical Center in Flagstaff. The care, preparation, procedure, and recovery care that I received at that Surgical Center in Flagstaff was very thorough and professional. I would suggest Peak Heart and Vascular to anyone needing the type of care that I had.
Time well spent. Nurses were on spot and Dr. Bear used our time together in a positive manner. All questions and concerns were addressed.
