I was admitted May 7-8 with a severe Cardiac issue. The Ward I stayed on was, in my humble opinion the best healthcare experience I could ever ask for! I was cared for by an OUTSTANDING healthcare team and I want to personally recognize Super Star Alexie my evening Nurse who got me through the night. I want to also shout out to my Day Team: Doctor Goldenberg, Nurse Alan, Caregivers Erick and Amanda AND my Evening Team: Doctor Goldenberg, Nurse Alexie, and Caregivers RSC Raquel, CN Elysa. Additional shout to the Chaplain, Social Worker, Administration Rep, Dietary Staff for all their support! 5 stars to Grossmont Hospital and Staff who diligently tended to my medical needs and got me back on track and well! I owe you all a huge thank you for everything you did to care for me! Thank you so much!!!
Ooohhhkaaayyy, this is my first time being admitted to the hospital. I'm here on the 4th floor, Orthopedics. Lemmie just tell you...these nurses are the bomb. Nurse Diane, Nurse Athena, Nurse Mark, Nurse Michele, Nurse Christine, Dr. Sun, Nurse Case worker Theresa and can't forget super assistant Chelsie. I know I may have forgotten some names, but honestly every body that has come into suite 471, has been a dream. As of today I have been here for one week, and they have been taking great care of me. Very attentive, always professional, and they know their shit too. Now let me tell you about The Hostess with the Mostest...Host Daria Z. from 4th floor West. She has been a treasure to talk to. She has gone well above and beyond with my breakfast, lunch, and dinner orders...and she smells nice too. Her great personality has kept my spirits up since being here, and she is someone I look forward to seeing everyday. So if you ever end up on the Ortho floor, 4 West, just know, this is where they care, and care is excellent here.
Literally wish I could give this place 0 stars. Came here because my relative was having a hard time breathing. When we got here the lady at the front desk told us that we would have to get visitor passes which is understandable. We were waiting there for a little while a lady comes sees that we’re waiting and says nothing to us and is a sitting on her phone, whatever I go get a visitors pass and I’m waiting for my relative to get brought back. Once she sees an RN she was brought back to the waiting room. I’m the waiting room her condition was getting worse and she was beginning to get more and more dizzy a friend let one of the nurses know. I totally get having a stressful time at work but the service my relative received from registered nurse Jordan was terrible and unacceptable if this nurse can’t deal with a patient telling them their condition I’m not sure why their in the field at all. She was so disrespectful the whole time my aunt was telling her about how she was feeling and she kept down playing the way my aunt is feeling. It got to the point my aunt literally asked if she was okay mentally because I just seemed like she wasn’t there and didn’t really care to be honest. I hope you if see this and know you are what’s wrong in the world, I really don’t understand being a nurse and not treating a patient like a normal human being. If you are having an emergency please for the love of god don’t go here you’ll be wasting your time.
Get rid of all the doctors and keep Dr. Paul Hein. I had a truly outstanding experience in the ED at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, thanks to Dr. Paul Hein. He was not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but also incredibly compassionate. He took the time to clearly explain everything, answered all our questions, and made us feel genuinely cared for. It’s rare to come across someone who combines expertise with such a calm and reassuring presence. Dr. Hein went above and beyond, and I’m very grateful for the care I received. Sharp Grossmont is fortunate to have him on their team.
This is the worst emergency department in America. My sister underwent surgery and was discharged on the very same day. Her condition deteriorated the following day, so she was transported by ambulance back to the hospital last Tuesday. She arrived at the emergency department at 2:00 PM, in severe pain. They left her alone in the hallways on a wheelchair until 7:00 PM. They then moved her out to the general waiting area with the other patients—despite her compromised immune system and the risk of contracting an infection from one of the other patients. She sat there in agony until 12:00 AM. Every time I asked them to admit her to a room, they would tell me, "There are no rooms available." They are deceiving people; how could such a massive hospital possibly have no rooms for patients?! Finally, after my persistent insistence, they admitted her back into the emergency department area. The staff members were laughing and watching a football match between San Diego and Los Angeles, while numerous patients—including the elderly—were weeping in excruciating pain. It was not until the following day that they finally admitted her to a hospital room; by then, her condition had deteriorated significantly, and the doctors were forced to administer a multitude of medications to her.
